End of day 14! |
We've reached the top of the 4th panel (there are ten). |
The piece before back buttering. |
The huge piece going on the wall (it's 4 feet high and 2 1/2 wide). |
We've started grouting the first part of what we installed. |
End of day 15! |
MOSAIKA IS IN HARLEM AT THE NEWLY BUILT MOTHER CLARA HALE BUS DEPOT. WE ARE INSTALLING A 2 500 SQUARE FOOT MOSAIC MADE OF STAINED GLASS, HAND MADE CERAMICS AND GLASS SMALTI. THE ARTIST OF THIS LARGE MURAL IS SHINIQUE SMITH, A BROOKLYN BASED VISUAL ARTIST.
We have beautiful blue skies today. |
They brought up the first of two huge air conditioners. We wisely got out of its way. |
We were able go back to work when the air conditioner was safely on the roof. |
Our first crate with the next panels arrived today. |
The second air conditioner safely transported. |
And our second crate safely arrives too. |
End of day 13! |
We weren't able to work for three days due to rain. Not surprisingly, our paper didn't survive but it managed to stay on site! |
Magda is replacing missing pieces on the first sections while we continue to install on the second scissor lift. |
It has unfortunately started to pour so being done for the day, we put the pieces back in the crate. |
End of day 11! |
